Projects A, B & C
PROJECT A: Alternative energy: Research solar, wind or water energy and its current use (brain pop is a good resource for a quick lesson. There are also many books about these topics, probably available in your school library). Based on the source that the student finds most promising, have them build either:
a. Wind powered kit
b. A project of your choosing using alternative energy
MATERIALS: Internet access, alternative energy experiment kit.
PROJECT B: Circuit board design: Have students research circuit design. Then complete the Snap Circuit Kit experiment (an easy one, a medium one and a difficult one). Students who have used Snap Circuits previously should include a design of their own using snap circuits, The circuits that you build must drawn out and explained.
MATERIALS: Electricial Engineering and the Science of Circuits by James Bow, Snap Circuit Kit by Elenco.
PROJECT C: Choose a project in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Electricity/Electronics and build something. Check with Mrs.E. for ideas in these areas. This project must have pre-approval.
MATERIALS: Start with the "List of Science Fair Project Ideas" from Science Buddies.
